Sorry it took me a year and then some to find this link. Thanks so much for featuring this song of mine from 15 years ago. I’m glad to be enigmatic, but I sure ain’t no has-been. Some of my best work just got released, and some more of my best work is still ahead of me. It’s totally understandable that you might not have heard about it, though, because I’m a totally DiY solo artist on a shoestring budget and have been since the dark ages before the internet. Oh Paul Kotheimer. So glad to summon you. This is one of my favorite songs and, “has been (who isn’t a has-been)” is my favorite kind of star so please take it as a compliment. In fact this song and who you are to me is distinctly old school 20th century craftsmen songwriter and whether or not you or I are has-beens, the genre most certainly is.
Anyone less cynical, please dive deep into the Kotheimer. He’s not only a “has-been” but a “current-creative”, which makes him a time traveler.

Oh hi Andras. I didn’t realize this was you, obviously.
I have fond memories of running into you in NYC in 1999 or so, when you encouraged me to say with pride that I was from URBANA, IL, rather than calling myself a “Chicago” songwriter. Great advice, which I’ve followed as much as possible since then. I also remember your stopover at my humble home, complete with your big blue cooler full of custom road food. That *was* you, in both cases, wasn’t it?
