Bob Wiseman
From ANDRAS JONES: BOB WISEMAN is one of the few people I feel confident applying the G word to. My old acting teacher, W. Morgan Sheppard once described playing a genius with one action; impatience. I’ve never met anyone more impatient than Bob. He’s impatient with injustice and stupidity and hypocrisy and (back in the day) with me. I referenced this dynamic in my previous Radio8Blog post. You can hear it in evidence here. Whether Bob is doubting my format or threatening to steal it from me, he is always needling. Impatiently. If you listen back to previous episodes with Dan Bern or Jeffrey Gaines or Frank Lee Drennan from Dead Rock West, you’ll hear a modest version of this attitude. I prefer Bob’s dick-on-the-table response to The Pop Oracle. It’s honest and, in the words of the great BJ (Billy Joel), that’s “mostly what I need from you”.
In this episode Bob makes reference to a song collage of “Fooled Again”. Here it is: https://bobwiseman.bandcamp.com/track/fooled-again
