From ANDRAS JONES: MEERNAA have the right medicine for the moment. Fresh from a week off the grid in Big Sur, Carly Bond, Rob Shelton & Andrew Maguire drove down from Oakland in the wee early morning hours in order to make this session. The combination of their time in the woods, sleep deprivation, and the venue; a tiny rehearsal space in a theater complex with acting classes on either side of us, probably led to an even more intimate show than usual for Meernaa. I love when a great band has to play quieter than usual, and if they’re tired? That’s when dream consciousness can seep into the performance. You tell me if you think that’s what happened here.
