From ANDRAS JONES: OK. I know I have not been giving these Radio8Blogs the in depth sync love they deserve. I intend to remedy that in the future. I’ve had to withhold certain details while addressing the situation discussed in this session. I won’t re-tell the whole sordid story. It’s all there in the tracks. Mean time, this one deserves some context. I find it telling that today, July 11th when this is being released, would have been my 27th wedding anniversary. So we have break-ups embedded into break-ups as an illustration of the dynamic whereby every heartbreak rips the bandage off the wounds of previous heartbreaks.
There’s also the vehicular synchronicity between PETE MOLINARI‘s “train”, upon which he is waiting, and PAUL PLAGENS’ “Lovesick Car”, as the subject of today’s randomly chosen Pop Oracle song from the Radio8Ball app.
This session with Pete and his friends wasn’t an easy one, but they made it easier for me and I’m sure we’ll be hearing more from these folks in Season Three, whenever that may be.
POP ORACLE Song of The Day (July 11, 2019): PAUL PLAGENS “Lovesick Car”
WAITING FOR A TRAIN
So they wanted you to change your point of view And for you to be a part of this world too
I told them I’m just I’m waiting for a train And that I do not wish to play the game
I look around
Some lost, some found
And most it seems they are looking for acclaim
And I’m just waiting for a train
Well everywhere I turn I see a crime
Is your soul just worth a nickel or a dime?
The seeds we sow, they’re the ones we reap, And my souls the part, I say I need to keep
We’re all preoccupied
To ask who am I?
Instead it seems we’d rather be a name
Well I’m just waiting for a train
Have I become afraid to be myself?
Are we all on our way to being someone else?
The things we want to hold they have to pass, And nothing of this world is made to last
But what of love?
Is it enough?
Well it’s worth more than all the fortune and the fame
So I’m just waiting for a train
Well take a look and see what we’ve become, All that you can sell, for a tidy sum,
When you had all you needed from the start, But you auctioned off your soul, your mind and heart?
Well listen here
It’s all just fear
And nothing’s worth much that you really gain
So I guess you’ll find me waiting for a train
