Kendl Winter
From ANDRAS JONES: Author/educator ELANA FREELAND returned to the realm of the Pop Oracle with our guest KENDL WINTER for part 2 of the discussion we began with her in the last episode with David Rovics. In that session we discussed her Sub Rosa America series of books. In this one we get to her work on geoengineering and transhumanism. It’s not a pretty picture she paints and there will certainly be those who dismiss her out of hand simply because what she is pointing out is too frightening to fathom. Luckily, we’re hear to leaven the nightmarish news with the sweet inspiration of Kendl’s music.

POP ORACLE Song of The Day (February 12, 2019): MEREDITH BRAGG “Carolina”
the Sky is Green
i’d believe the sky is green if you said the sky was green
So please don’t say what you don’t mean
Because I would believe anything
I’d believe that I was cruel if you said that I was cruel
I’d hang my head and cry a pool,
send myself to kindness school
I’d believe that I was pretty if you said that I was pretty
I’d walk with my head held high in the city
winking at strangers and smiling at kitties
I’d believe that leaves don’t fall if you said that leaves don’t fall
I’d watch them change colors and all and wonder how they hit the ground
And I’d believe that birds don’t sing if you said that birds don’t sing
I’d see them fluffing up their wings and wonder the source of the sound
I’d believe the world was scary if you said the world was scary
I’d hold your hand and walk all weary out there through the ghosts and ghouls
And I’d believe the world was funny if you said the world was funny
I’d buckle over hand on tummy laughing with those clowns and fools
But I’d believe the sky was green if you said the sky was green
So please don’t say what you don’t mean
Because I would believe anything
