From ANDRAS JONES: DAN BERN wrote a bunch of the songs for the JOHN C. REILLY film “Walk Hard” in which he played the character Dewey Cox, a Johnny Cash type rock and roll icon, and when I got in touch with Reilly’s representatives in the spring of 2010 saying I was doing a show with Dan and could John Skype in, I got a response in less than two hours saying the he’d love to. That was easy! This was when we were presenting Radio8Ball as a live event at Theater Off Jackson in Seattle so forgive the less than perfect sound quality. Dan was on tour with his friends in the band Common Rotation who had one song of their own on the board and I guess I was kind of hoping one of the Dewey Cox songs would answer John’s question. It didn’t work out that way but, despite our misgivings at the time, in retrospect it’s pretty perfect.
