From ANDRAS JONES: The music of The Essex Green is airy and dark, like a very pretty and well-lit room which also happens to be haunted. The whole band wrote down questions as candidates for the final musical divination. Only one could be chosen. It was keyboardist and vocalist Sasha Bell’s and, like their friend Creston Lea’s question, her query has a seismic slant. We are living in times of massive change so it’s not entirely surprising that a traveling band’s thoughts might tend toward the apocalyptic and, truth be told, as much fun as we were having in the studio, our good times weren’t without ramifications. It was all worth it of course.
