Koda Corvette
From ANDRAS JONES: KODA CORVETTE was booked on Radio8Ball by our newest producer Andrew Burrill and his first swing was a home run. Good job Andrew! Koda is impossibly young, talented and supremely over-the-top in terms of being easy to work with. She does all the work! She didn’t just write, sing and play these songs; she mixed them as well. It’s hard, as a jaded veteran of this business, to listen to the optimism of a young artist who has this much promise without some cynicism and yet, I know that what she dreams of is possible. I’ve seen people do it. It can be done and Koda very well could be en route to the toppermost of the poppermost. That’s certainly what I’m rooting for.
We recorded this episode the day after our sessions with Myra Flynn, and I was still ruminating over this new term; “virtue signaling” that Brian Bender used on that episode. The concept of virtue signaling informs my question in this installment and has become one of the themes of my year since hearing it. Today’s podcast drops on the eve of the holiday named for Jesus Christ, a time of great national virtue signaling from the halls of Target to the gates of McDonalds and, I am sure, some genuine virtue if you know where to look for it. Maybe even in the synchronicities to be found herein.
