Future Teens
From ANDRAS JONES: Back when I was nestled deep in the web of synchronicity once generated under the banner of “Sync Book” I produced a show called SYNCHRONIZE with the editor in chief at that mostly non-existent, but oh-so-inspirational, enterprise. We used to refer to the obvious synchronicities our show generated as “low hanging sync fruit” and our policy was to ignore it. Let the audience have it as their personal “Eureka!”.
This session with FUTURE TEENS in their basement in Watertown threads the needle of obscurity and “Lowhang” as finely as we have yet accomplished. If you consider that my band was called The Previous (which can also be heard as The Previews) and their band can also be Ms. heard as “future tense” and we both have a record called “Hard Feelings”, well, I know that’s a profound synchronicity because it means the world to me and sounds like gibberish to anyone else. And then there’s “sleep schedule”.
All I can say is there really was a door hanging between me and the band before we started and I had to take it down in order to carry out our session. Aldous Huxley would have got a kick out of that, or maybe he’d just call it low hanging fruit.
Sleep Schedule
It’s not your birthday so i did not get a card
but it doesn’t matter cause i did not get that far inside your house
should’ve asked you to come out
instead i stare at my phone waiting around
it’s been a while since i have attempted to forgo my sleep schedule to kiss somebody new
tonight at your place i now know what it means to feel your age
and i cant say how much longer i can wait
because it’s three in the morning and i’m close to giving up
but then you ask if i’m leaving or not
and i think oh my god i only wanted to get back to way i was before i met you
replays of that moment run through my head
but i couldn’t even kiss you in any of them
