From ANDRAS JONES: BRITTA PHILLIPS returns to Radio8Ball as the penultimate musical guest before we take a brief hiatus from the daily podcasts to get ahead of the schedule and prepare for SEASON TWO. Britta joined us for our Louise Goffin episode last December to ask a #metoo question and now here she is with her own songs accompanied by Radio8Ball fave MARSHALL THOMPSON. My question is a pretty simple one, about a couple of dogs I had the pleasure of taking care of this weekend while my friends were away.
INGRID SUPERSTAR by Britta Phillips
She was standing there in old sheets and dirty hair
Eating mean green beans, dainty as a parakeet
A man can take it on the nose, hard and cool, the spit in the roast
He knows I know, I know he knows I know…
Here comes one, yeah here he come
With the sound and smell of an only son
Of a boy on the run
Hard boys flame by with girly smiles, mocking eyes
I like the way you tease and throw me treats
Sound floats from my rusty throat
Hard ground, bony hips, sweaty hands, salty lips
But I won’t go where you go… I don’t wanna know what you know…
Well the sun went dark but the moon did not
She shined her eye and my face felt hot
