Amy Raasch
&
Miranda Lee Richards
From ANDRAS JONES: AMY RAASCH is the reason this whole session with MIRANDA LEE RICHARDS happened. Listen to learn how. And while you’re at it, celebrate the birthday of her album “Girls Get Cold” which is the best new album I’ve heard since They Might Be Giants’ last album. I don’t know when she’s going to be a musical guest on our show but it won’t be for a lack of my asking. I’ve gotten rather desperate for her turn at the Pop Oracle, at least as desperate as a synchronicity host can allow.
I feel I should point out I’ve yet to hear Miranda’s new CD’s she gave me at the show and I am confident they will be the best things I’ve heard since “Girls Get Cold”. She’s really blowing me away in these sessions.
WORTH
There’s only one horse worth ridin’
And no they ain’t all the same
I’m lookin’ down from this mountain
Of religion I built in your name
So roll over Beethoven
I’m askin’ questions today
And I’m crumblin’ in what was stable
And I’m sellin’ myself for change
(CHORUS)
Oh, don’t ask for money when you’re poor
‘Cause you spent your last dollar
On more clothes for the floor
An expensive wives’ supper
And everything that don’t make you worth more
What have you worked so hard for?
So I dedicate this to ya’
With your eyes so green
‘Cause I been standin’ on this mountain
Of religion I built in your name
(CHORUS)
Oh and don’t you ask for money when you’re poor
‘Cause you spent your last dollar
On more clothes for the floor
An expensive wives’ supper
And everything that didn’t make you worth more
Oh what have you worked so hard for?
(BRIDGE)
So give all your lovin’
Give all your lovin’ back
(CHORUS)
