Andras Jones
&
Brother, Sister
From ANDRAS JONES: BROTHER, SISTER are a BIG band; KIEFO NILSSON (Bass), BEN FORDHAM (Vocals/Violin), HEATHER OGILVY (Vocals/Viola), ICHI TANABE (Drums), MAX GUALTIERI (Lead Guitar), SIMON WILSON (Vocals/Keyboards) & Songwriter BOBBY HALVORSON. We gathered at INDUSTRY AVE studios in Pico Rivera with engineer CAL CAMPBELL to record these sessions and, trust me, you are glad to be listening in the comfort of your own headphones This was not an easy session. Cal Campbell did a great job balancing all the elements and I think I did a pretty good job keeping my cool (until I didn’t). The band were good sports sweltering through 8 songs and letting Bobby come into the control room to talk about the songs and sync while they wondered what the hell was going on.
Our first divination references something that went unrecorded in our previous session with Kira Lynn Cain, and something that went unmentioned (until a later episode) in my ongoing debate with Todd Lawrence.
Pick and Choose
Save all the rage as you’re thinking of a plan,
It’s a plan to defeat the better man with a word
with a pulmonary burst, in a verse, you can win but you must…
See, I try to be a better man, yet I’m usually irreverent
Even resolved frays can drive you insane
I never wanna be the one to forgive my enemy,
I want to live inside a fantasy
Hey, it is done, you can throw it in the sun,
never once will you wonder if you won
It’s a game full of autocratic shame
and you lay, ever-ruminating
Lay awake, lay awake and wonder
Stay awake, lay awake
