Feisty Heart
From ANDRAS JONES: I met PAUL PEARSON in the early years of Radio8Ball, when were both DJ’s at KAOS in Olympia. Years later, he played Attractions keyboard player Steve Nieve in “My Brave Face”, the Costello/McCartney tribute band Scott Taylor and I put together in 2004. He’s played in The Radio8Band twice, once for our tribute to The Posies with member of Olympia’s The Hard Way and C Average, and once with Peter David Connelly of The Mona Reels. I’m sure most of these names don’t mean anything to most of you, but if you lived in Olympia at a certain time they might, and if you follow this show you will get to know them all. Paul has his own podcast these days – TALKING ABOUT THINKING ABOUT RECORDS. I’d say more but I promised not to.
Earthquake Season
Earthquake season
It’s that time of year
Another reason to question why I am here
It’s not just my car
that’s blocked in
but every single ray of light I have within
Tempting fantasies
in my dreams
Alternate lives, unconscious streams
Can I write a song
without love or heart?
Probably not, probably not
What the world needs
is to learn to breathe
and the sight to see what your neighbor needs
And not raise your sons
to never cry
and let your daughters always question why
Don’t turn your backs
on history
or the scales that tip they’re not a mystery
So blame each other
it’s what they want, it’s what they want, it’s what they want
I can see us from above
all the shapes we are made of
without the laws and rules on love
or the islands we’ve become
BRIDGE
Take a step back
learn to breathe
Take a step back take a step back take a step back
what do you see?
Can I write a song
without love or heart?
Probably not, probably not, probably not
I can see us from above
all the shapes we are made of
Without the rules and laws on love
and the islands we’ve become
What the world needs, is to learn to breathe, learn to breathe, learn to breathe
