From ANDRAS JONES: LAURA JEAN ANDERSON lives in LA but she’s from Olympia. In fact, she went to high school just blocks from the studio where we recorded this session. Back in town for the holidays to visit her family and play a show to a packed house at Octapas, LJ (as she asked to be called) made time to join our show even though she was battling a cold, which only made her already soulful rasp just that much grittier. I didn’t know her music before this but I’m really excited to share her with you. Prepare to be blown away. By the songs. By the voice. By the mutli-talented musicianship. Laura Jean Anderson is the real deal and our hours in the graveyard adjacent basement were a hopeful way to conclude Gregorian 2019.
