W. Morgan Sheppard
&
Miranda Zeiger
From ANDRAS JONES: I met MORGAN SHEPPARD at THE VINCENT CHASE WORKSHOP in the late 80’s where he became one of my greatest teachers. Vincent left us this month so I asked Morgan to come in and join our session with MIRANDA ZEIGER and share some memories of Vince, the studio, and his own life as an actor.
Update Feb. 26, 2019: I just received the sad news that Morgan left this earthly realm in January. Here is a wonderful interview he gave to The Projection Booth podcast.
Beach Bum
V1) Everyone’s busy with their real jobs
They feed their families and they walk their dogs
They’ve got a construct they find purpose in
Sometimes they lose and sometimes they win
V2) Some are extraordinary, break new ground
Bet they don’t spend their days lazin’ around
Wish I had learned a trade or skill
Wish I had money and a stronger will
CHORUS:
There’s very little I’m inspired by
Just take me to the beach and let me lie
Don’t make a schedule ‘cause we’re staying all day
I really don’t mind if I get swept away
V3) I like the noisy surf, I like the sun
I like not running into anyone
I like to fall asleep on fine, soft sand
Like to be at the very edge of land
-CHORUS-
BRIDGE:
What use am I to society?
How can I help anybody?
The only thing that feels right to me
Is staring at the sea
-CHORUS-
I really don’t mind, I really don’t mind
I really don’t mind, I really don’t mind
If I get swept away
