Sheldon Gomberg
&
Tobias The Owl
From ANDRAS JONES: SHELDON GOMBERG is the producer of TOBIAS THE OWL‘s new record. He’s also a cat who has come up several times on the show, particularly in conversations with Eleni Mandell and Inara George. We didn’t get into it on this episode but in talking with Sheldon beforehand I realized he’s also worked with two of my favorite artists from LA in the 90’s, Duke McVinnie and Tracy Thielin. I met both of them at The Iguana Cafe, which I talked about at great length in our Dead Rock West episode. It’s always wild to meet someone with whom I share so many connections over so much time, and yet, we are only meeting now. Better late than never.
The Wind and The Echo
Oh there was never time enough,
though we spent years on end in love,
in sheltered moments that we shared,
in the home that we made.
And even when our lives were
strained there was one thing that remained.
And even when I am far across borders you will always be my home.
I’ll be floating like wind on the ocean,
I’ll hear the echoes of your voice.
And all the world is spinning fast,
and our bricks and mortar never lasts,
and with every half life that we pass,
we are further away.
But even when our lives are strained
there will be one thing that remains.
And even when I am far across borders you will always be my home.
I’ll be floating like wind on the ocean,
I’ll hear the echoes of your voice.
Though i may travel far i will never be gone
you will always be my home.
