There’s a blizzard in Seattle and I can’t get a live guest for the Radio8Ball Show on Alternative Talk 1150AM. My old friend and sometimes collaborator, Ethan Gold, agrees to call in from LA and help interpret as we use a CD of new tracks he’d been working on for our oracle fodder. I asked him, as I ask all my guests, if he knew anyone cool or famous who might call in. As luck would have it he had two friends who would actually be touring through Seattle that week. He told me they’d both been on The Sarah Silverman Show and I was immediately game. I loved that show.
Tig and Natasha didn’t just call in. They braved the icy conditions, made it to the studio and participated fully in the musical divination process. I ended up tagging along to their gig that night at The Cafe Venus & Mars Bar and have been a fan of both ever since.
Those who are familiar with Tig’s battle with cancer (and most of her fans will be since she has made some great transformative comedy of it) will recognize a frightening whiff of premonition in her reading
